Tony’s Pasta Shop & Trattoria

Wandering through the nooks and crannies of Bluff View Art District, you will notice a familiar yet subtle savory hint in the air. It is romantic and nostalgic in a sense, given that Bluff View Art District is Chattanooga’s own European escape. Couple the subtle fragrance with the light river breeze, and you have the perfect dining destination in Tony’s Pasta Shop & Trattoria.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Tony’s Pasta Shop & Trattoria began in 1908 when the restaurant’s building served as the carriage house for the then Chattanooga Mayor, T.C. Thompson. Thompson’s mansion was restored as a bed and breakfast home for Bluff View Inn, leaving the carriage house as the ideal location for a family-owned restaurant. Tony’s Pasta Shop & Trattoria (commonly known as Tony’s Pasta Shop or Tony’s) opened its doors to the city of Chattanooga in December 1994. Beginning as a small gourmet grocery store with only a few dine-in seats, Tony’s building has been remodeled and renovated five times – allowing for more seating and service opportunities. Serving authentic Sicilian recipes while maintaining a casual dining atmosphere, Tony’s Pasta Shop quickly drew traction amongst locals and traveling guests.

Homemade Flavor

Almost 30 years later, those signature flavors and recipes have become a staple in Chattanooga’s culinary community. Tony’s Pasta Shop offers house-made pastas, hand-crafted sauces, and its famous complimentary table bread served with oil and cheese are all made fresh daily. The menu boasts many classic Italian entrées while also allowing a “Create Your Own” option- giving guests the opportunity to customize their cuisine. Interested in gluten-safe options? Tony’s Pasta Shop is proud to offer a full menu for guests with gluten sensitivities.

The house-made pasta and rustic table breads (country batard and garlic ciabatta) are created fresh daily by the bakers at Bluff View Bakery. Tony’s desserts are crafted by the talented pastry chefs at Rembrandt’s Pastry Kitchen. Seasonal herbs and vegetables used in the recipes are a product of Bluff View Herb & Vegetable Garden. The rotating beer and wine menus are carefully curated to offer local, regional, and global beverages expertly paired with each culinary creation. From start to finish, each component adds to the authentic experience that is Tony’s Pasta Shop.
